»Kdor namreč ima, se mu bo dalo, in kdor nima, se mu bo vzelo tudi to, kar se mu zdi, da ima.« (Lk 8,18)

Jezus govori učencem. Pomaga jim preverjati ali so resnično sprejeli njegovo Besedo. Pokaže se v sadovih. Kakor sveča sveti ker gori, tako tudi kristjan sveti, ker pripada Kristusu, ki je luč sveta. Če Jezusovo besedo poslušam in sprejemam me bogati in si jo še želim. Zdravi moje srce in odnose. Če pa njegove besede na maram, pa bom izgubil še to, kar se mi zdi, da imam: človeškost po Božji podobi. Zato danes mirno sprejemamo evtanazijo, odpravljamo spole ter očetovstvo in materinstvo. Trgovanje z otroki in odraslimi nas niče več ne gane. Zmanjševanje prebivalstva mnogi katoličani smatrajo za nujno. Do srca nam ne pride niti 42 milijonov uradnih splavov otrok na leto. Vojne se nam zdijo kot zabavna televizijska akcijska nadaljevanka.

"Porque al que tiene, se le dará; y al que no tiene, se le quitará hasta lo que cree que tiene". (Lucas 8:18)

Jesús se dirige a los discípulos. Les ayuda a comprobar si han recibido verdaderamente Su Palabra. Él se muestra en el fruto. Como una vela brilla porque arde, así el cristiano brilla porque pertenece a Cristo, que es la luz del mundo. Si escucho y acepto la Palabra de Jesús, me enriquece y quiero más de ella. Sana mi corazón y mis relaciones. Pero si no me gusta su palabra, perderé lo que creo tener: la humanidad a imagen de Dios. Por eso hoy aceptamos pacíficamente la eutanasia, la abolición del sexo, la paternidad y la maternidad. Ya no nos conmueve el tráfico de niños y adultos. La reducción de la población es vista por muchos católicos como una necesidad. Tampoco nos llegan al corazón los 42 millones de abortos oficiales de bebés al año. Vemos las guerras como entretenidas secuencias de acción televisiva.

"For he who has, to him shall be given; and he who has not, from him shall be taken even that which he thinks he has." (Luke 8:18)

Jesus is speaking to the disciples. He helps them to check whether they have truly received His Word. He shows Himself in the fruit. Just as a candle shines because it burns, so the Christian shines because he belongs to Christ, who is the light of the world. If I listen to and accept the Word of Jesus, it enriches me and I want more of it. It heals my heart and my relationships. But if I do not like his word, I will lose what I think I have: humanity in the image of God. That is why today we peacefully accept euthanasia, abolish sex, and fatherhood and motherhood. We are no longer moved by the trafficking of children and adults. Population reduction is seen by many Catholics as a necessity. Nor do the 42 million official abortions of babies a year get to our hearts. We see wars as entertaining TV action sequences
