"And he said to them, 'The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath'" (Luke 6:5).

Jesus gives us a new house of God, the Father, who is our home. The Sabbath is a day of connection and life with and from God. By becoming the bread for our lives, Jesus gives us communion with God, his presence and constant closeness, regardless of external and internal circumstances and events. In Jesus, God gives us himself as his life. Therefore, to be free means that we can live from God and for God. We bring our work and suffering to Him, but He gives us Himself and makes us His body, living out of the love of the Father. This is the love that no one can force us to live. No rule can force us to love and give to others what we have received as a gift from God. Finally, we can rise up out of slavery to our own selfishness and our own fears. The goal of our journey has come to us in Jesus to capture us in response to the eternal offer of Him who is our Bridegroom and eternal Bridegroom.
