»Blagor žalostnim, kajti potolaženi bodo.« (Mt 5,4)

Edini način za premagovanje zla je, da ga ne damo naprej, da ga ne vrnemo in ne pomnožimo. Tega noben običajen moški ali ženska zares ne zmoreta. Ko si mlad misliš, da zmoreš, a z leti se izkaže, da si živel v veliki samoprevari. Kako so torej to zmogli številni svetniki nekoč in številni svetniki zmorejo to še danes? Še vedno jih je veliko in se ne razkazujejo. Kakor kvas so. Zaradi njih gre svet naprej in se še nismo vzajemno pokončali. Zlo ne more zmagati. Tudi če se zdi, da zmaguje, zlo ravno takrat v resnici izgublja. Ljubezen pa zmaguje, ko se nam zdi, da je izgubila. V moči Kristusa, ki nas je ozdravil smrti, kristjani zmoremo v žalosti živeti iz tega, da nas on drži za roko in gledati v Njegovo Obličje. On se ne potopi. Ker nas drži za roko, lahko tečemo po vodi smrti in strahov. Vsega tega, kar nam povzroča veliko žalosti in bolečine. Prihodnost naše žalosti je Očetovo veselje do slehernega izmed nas. V tej moči je Kristus zdržal žalost trpljenja, smrti in vstal od mrtvih. Ker smo v Njem, ne izgubljamo poguma, ampak smo polni tolažbe v vsaki stiski. V tem je skrivnost velikonočnega nasmeha sredi stiske.

"Blessed are the sorrowful, for they shall be comforted." (Mt 5:4)

The only way to overcome evil is not to give it away, not to return it and not to multiply it. No ordinary man or woman can really do that. When you are young you think you can, but as the years go by it turns out that you have been living in great self-deception. So how did many saints do it in the past and how can many saints do it today? There are still many of them and they do not show off. They are like yeast. They make the world go on and we have not yet killed each other. Evil cannot win. Even when it appears to be winning, that is when evil is really losing. But love wins when we think it has lost. In the power of Christ, who healed us from death, we Christians can live in sorrow from Him holding our hand and looking up to His Face. He does not sink. Because He holds our hand, we can run through the water of death and fears. All that causes us much sorrow and pain. The future of our sorrow is the Father's joy for each one of us. In this strength Christ endured the sorrow of suffering, death and resurrection. Because we are in Him, we do not lose courage, but are filled with comfort in every tribulation. This is the secret of the Easter smile in the midst of adversity.

"Bienaventurados los tristes, porque ellos serán consolados". (Mt 5,4)

La única manera de vencer el mal es no regalarlo, no devolverlo y no multiplicarlo. Ningún hombre o mujer corriente puede hacerlo. Cuando eres joven crees que puedes, pero con el paso de los años resulta que has estado viviendo en un gran autoengaño. Entonces, ¿cómo lo hicieron muchos santos en el pasado y cómo pueden hacerlo muchos santos hoy? Todavía hay muchos y no alardean. Son como la levadura. Hacen que el mundo siga adelante y todavía no nos hemos matado unos a otros. El mal no puede ganar. Incluso cuando parece que está ganando, es cuando el mal está realmente perdiendo. Pero el amor gana cuando creemos que ha perdido. En el poder de Cristo, que nos curó de la muerte, los cristianos podemos vivir dolidos porque Él nos tiene de la mano y miramos a su Rostro. Él no se hunde. Porque Él nos toma de la mano, podemos correr a través del agua de la muerte y de los miedos, de todo lo que nos causa mucha pena y dolor. El futuro de nuestro dolor es la alegría del Padre para cada uno de nosotros. Con esta fuerza, Cristo soportó el dolor del sufrimiento, la muerte y la resurrección. Porque estamos en Él, no perdemos el ánimo, sino que nos llenamos de consuelo en toda tribulación. Este es el secreto de la sonrisa pascual en medio de la adversidad.
